If the oil change indicator light illuminates on a 2017 Jeep Compass, turn the car’s electrical system on, but don’t start the engine. Press down on the accelerator pedal three times within 10 seconds. Then, start the engine to finish resetting the oil change indicator light.
The Jeep Compass uses a duty-cycle based system to notify drivers when it’s time to change the oil based on their driving habits and their vehicle’s performance. Depending on your Jeep, you’ll see “Oil Change Required” or “Change Oil” appear and hear a single chime.
