2008 BMW 328i bolt pattern

The bolt pattern for the 2008 BMW 328i is 5x4.72—this is a fairly standard
BMW lug pattern
. If you’re unfamiliar with how to read bolt patterns, the first number is always equal to the number of bolts on each wheel and the second is equal to the diameter (in inches) of the circle that those bolts form. So, here’s how it looks:
[number of bolts] x [diameter of the circle they form]
A 5x4.72 lug pattern, therefore, means that your BMW’s wheels each have five bolts, arranged in a 4.72-inch circle.
In addition to bolt pattern, you’ll also need to know the correct wheel size, stud size, offset, center bore, and tightening torque for your 328i. Here are all the relevant details:
  • Factory wheel size: 16”
  • Stud size: M12 x 1.5 (12-millimeter studs with 1.5 millimeters between each thread)
  • Offset: 30-36 (depending on trim level)
  • Center bore: 72.6 mm
  • Wheel tightening torque: 115 Nm

How to measure your BMW 328i’s bolt pattern

If you’d like to double-check your BMW’s bolt pattern, or if you forget it, you can easily measure the pattern yourself—you’ll just need a tape measure or a ruler.
Here’s how to do it:
  • Measure the distance from the outer edge of one of the bolts to the very center of the wheel.
  • Measure the distance from the center of another of the bolts to the center of the wheel.
  • Add those two measurements together to get your diameter—which is the second number in your bolt pattern.
  • Count the number of bolts on one of the wheels in order to get the first number.
Put those two numbers together and you have your bolt pattern! It’s as simple as that!
