Encore GX
is actually the Buick SUV that offers the best fuel economy. The Encore GX is slightly larger than the normal Encore model and offers drivers the ability to mix and match their powertrain and drivetrain by offering the choice between a turbocharged 1.2-liter or turbocharged 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine, as well as the choice between a front-wheel drivetrain with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) or an all-wheel drivetrain with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Here’s how the fuel economy ratings for the Encore GX break down for each of those combinations:
- 1.2 L engine w/ FWD: 29 mpg city/31mpg highway/30 mpg combined
- 1.2 L engine w/AWD:26 mpg city/29 mpg highway/28 mpg combined
