After a long absence, Acura
is releasing a revival of their popular Integra
. Fans may have to wait to get behind the wheel of the new Integra, but Acura is offering a reward for early adopters. According to Motor Trend,
those who reserve a 2023 Acura Integra could be eligible to receive a rare Integra non-fungible token (NFT). This is just one unique way in which Acura is marketing its new hatchback. How to claim the Acura Integra NFT
NFTs for the 2023 Acura Integra will go to those who reserve the car itself. Acura has stated that only 500 NFTs have been created, and the first 500 to reserve the car will receive them.
It is not known exactly what the NFTs will look like or how the 500 NFTs will be different from each other. Andreas Wannerstedt, an artist known for his NFTs, was responsible for crafting them.
While the Acura Integra NFTs may be an incentive for some potential buyers, those who haven't already reserved the new Acura may be out of luck. Motor Trend states that all 500 reservations have already been made.
If someone really wants to get an NFT with their new car, though, this is becoming a more common practice. Alfa Romeo
recently gave car buyers an NFT with their purchase. Acura is using other technology to promote the Integra
The NFT giveaway is not the only way that Acura has been using new technology for the Integra's launch. Acura promotion has spanned the Metaverse, video games, and even anime (no, seriously).
Acura ventured into the Metaverse in late March to launch the Integra virtual showroom. This digital Acura exhibition gives virtual visitors the chance to see different Integra options. Much like the NFTs, the virtual showroom features works were created by Andreas Wannerstedt.
Outside of the world of blockchain technology, Acura has been using other methods to expand to younger, tech-savvy audiences. According to Marketing Dive
, Acura previously launched an augmented reality game to give users a chance to experience Acura vehicles. The company even released an Acura anime. This may seem like a strange move at first, but cars and anime
are a proven successful combination. Car-themed anime series like Initial D have been popular for decades. What do we know about the new Acura Integra?
We've covered some unique marketing stunts for the Integra, but what is the car like? Car and Driver
states that the 2023 Acura Integra features the same engine and chassis as the Honda Civic Si. This 1.5-liter inline-four turbocharged engine produces 200 horsepower. There is nothing wrong with just being an improved Honda Civic SI, but the Acura Integra promises to be much more than that. Instead, the Integra is a slick, modern hatchback that still visually brings back memories of classic Integra models.
Higher trim levels come with the option for a six-speed manual transmission and even a head-up display. Car and Driver states that a base model will cost roughly $30,000.
