When it comes to luxury cars, many folks may be aware of supercars and hypercars and perhaps even

. Megacars are not just above supercars, but above hypercars as well.In terms of megacars, few automakers are on the same level as Koenigsegg. Not only has this Swedish automaker broken speed records with its megacars, but the company also continues to push the boundaries of what's possible.
For example, one of the speed barriers that few production cars have ever broken is the 300 mph one. However, the Koenigsegg Jesko is a megacar that can break that barrier.
The powerful specs of the Koenigsegg Regera
While not as powerful as the Jesko, the Regera is a megacar that offers more practicality in everyday life. That's because, according to
Koenigsegg
, the Regera is actually a plug-in hybrid. It has a powerful, 5.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 engine that gets about 1,100 horsepower by itself. The Regera also has three electric motors that generate about 700 horsepower combined. As such, together, the Regera's hybrid powertrain gets roughly 1,800 horsepower combined.
In terms of torque, the Regera has about 1,570 ft-lbs of torque combined. As a result, this powerful hybrid setup allows the Regera to go from 0 to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds, and it can also top out at about 251 mph. That easily makes it one of the
fastest cars around
.What features are available in the Koenigsegg Regera?
Since the Regera is a PHEV, it also comes with a 4.5-kW battery. This battery allows the Regera to go about 22 miles on electric power alone, which means that it can do short errands entirely with the battery.
That said since it's a megacar with a thirsty engine, its overall fuel economy isn't going to be great. It only gets about 11 mpg combined.
In addition to being powerful and somewhat eco-friendly, the Regera is also luxurious. Not only can it be the fastest car on the track, but Koenigsegg has also given it a smooth ride in normal conditions. That is, of course, on top of the high-end interior design that the Regera has, which includes features such as leather and a 9.0-inch touch screen.
One of the more interesting features of the Regera, however, is what Koenigsegg calls Autoskin. This futuristic feature allows the car to open and close its doors, its hood, and its trunk with hydraulics instead of gas, which saves some weight.
The whole Autoskin feature only adds about 11 pounds to the car. With that in mind, folks who are interested in the Regera should start saving now as it easily starts at about $2,000,000.
