A lot of automakers are trying to design
electric vehicles
that anyone can afford—but Porsche is making EVs for those who want speed. It accomplished as such with the remarkably quick
 Porsche Taycan
. And with the upgraded 2022 Taycan Turbo S, they’re pushing the boundary even further.

The 2022 Porsche Taycan Turbo S is very fast

The regular Taycan is already a very good car. In fact, it's
already outselling
its main competitor, the Tesla Model S, by a lot. The Turbo S trim, however, pushes the Taycan's capabilities even further.
According to
Porsche
, the Turbo S churns out 750 hp from its electric motors, and that allows it to go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds. That’s an immense improvement on the comparatively sluggish 403 hp of the regular Taycan.
The Turbo S is also a speedy recharger. It benefits from DC fast-charging capability, allowing it to recharge from 5% to 80% in just 23 minutes. Those using a slower, 50-kW DC charger will recharge from 5% to 80% in 93 minutes instead.

What's inside the 2022 Porsche Taycan Turbo S?

The Taycan Turbo S is a luxury car through and through—a fact backed up by its lush interior. The cabin has an upscale design that uses high-quality materials such as real wood, aluminum, and carbon fiber. Meanwhile, the front seats are 18-way power-adjustable, and every seat is also heated.
It’s also a comfortable space to be in—regardless of the weather. The cabin has a dual-zone climate control system, as well as a particle filter to clean the air.
For tech features, the Turbo S features a 16.8-inch curved digital instrument display and a 10.9-inch touch screen. Buyers can also get another 10.9-inch touch screen for the passenger side of the dashboard—but it’ll come at an extra cost. This Turbo S also comes with some smart safety features, such as parking assist, lane keep assist, and more.
Since the Turbo S doesn't have a traditional engine, it gets two storage spaces, a frunk, and a trunk. The frunk has 2.9 cubic feet of space, while the trunk has 12.9 cubic feet of space.

Other things to know

The Taycan Turbo S is propelled by a 93.4-kWh battery that gives it a range of about 201 miles. It also gets about 70 MPGe—a lower figure than a lot of EVs, but still well above that of most traditional gas-powered vehicles.
All-wheel-drive is also standard, as is a system that helps track and manage your range. There are other nifty features, too, such as a fake engine sound and Apple Music applications.
It’s worth noting, however, that none of this comes cheap. The standard Taycan starts at about $84,000; the Taycan Turbo S is well over double that cost, starting at $186,000
