background
If you’re a gearhead with a need for speed,
Ferrari
is likely a car brand on your radar. Ferraris are widely known for their quick acceleration, sleek design, and, of course, expensive price tag. But, if you’re willing to spend the money on a Ferrari, you probably want one that’s
especially fast
.
Or, maybe you’re not in the market for a Ferrari but are just curious about the car history surrounding the fastest one ever.
Jerry
, the

The fastest Ferrari with the best name: The Laferrari

This 2014 produced car has one of the most interesting names on the car market, and also one of the fastest engines. According to
Top Speed
, if you’re ranking fastest Ferraris in terms of top speed, the Laferrari takes the cake at 218 mph.
This incredible speed is produced by a 6.3-liter, V12 engine with one electric motor and a combined horsepower of 950. Plus, it has a rear wheel drivetrain and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Although it's a few years old, it’ll still run you about $1.3 million to get your hands on a

Best acceleration time: The Ferrari SF90 Stradale

If you’re ranking fastest Ferraris by acceleration time, then the Ferrari SF90 Stradale is your winner with the ability to go from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds.
It’s fueled by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo, V8 engine with three electric motors that supports a combined horsepower of 986. The transmission is an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic and the top speed is 211 mph. The price of this car is a little over $500,000.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast

Obviously, a car named the Ferrari Superfast had to be added on our list of fastest Ferraris.
According to
U.S. News
, the 2018 Ferrari 812 Superfast was the first Ferrari model to get the brand’s newest V12 engine, which is a 6.5-liter, that supports 789 hp and can get a fantastic 8,500 RPM on the tires. Like the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, this car has a top speed of 211 mph. And, it can reach 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, making it indeed, a superfast car.

Honorable mention: The Ferrari F8 Tributo

We have to give honorable mention to the Ferrari F8 Tributo, because it has virtually the same statistics as the Ferrari 812 Superfast, just with a different engine.
The F8 Tributo also has a top speed of 211 mph and an acceleration rate of 2.9 seconds from 0 to 62 mph, making it just a tad faster than the SF90 Stradale. This car supports a 3.9-liter, twin turbo, V8 engine that carries 710 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque.

One of the year’s fastest Ferraris: The Ferrari Monza SP1/SP2

Rounding out our fastest Ferraris list is a Ferrari new for 2022—a very exclusive and very pricey one at that.
According to U.S. News, the SP1 and SP2 represent the first cars in a new series for Ferrari, the Icona. The series aims to have a retro inspired design with a modern engine and technology. They use a 6.5-liter, V12 engine that supports 799 hp and an acceleration time of 2.9 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. Only 500 of these were made, and all have been sold for a price of $1.7 million each.
