Travis Scott's Car Collection Is So Big, He Can't Keep Track of Them All

background
Car collecting
is not a new concept in the
world of rap
. All the biggest names in the game do it, from Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Diddy to Jay-Z and Kanye.
The newer generation is in on the trend too, and one artist from the last decade with an impressive fleet of supercars is Travis Scott.
Scott talked at length in an interview with
L’Officiel
about his love for cars, comparing them to sneakers in how they can become an extension of yourself and your style. In the conversation, he admitted that he couldn’t name all the cars he owns off the top of his head.
Travis Scott can afford just about any car he wants, so it’s no wonder his collection is so big.

Highlights from Travis Scott’s car collection

Travis Scott might’ve lost count of his cars, but don’t mistake his forgetfulness as a sign that his collection is anything short of spectacular. The rapper’s garage is home to some of the world’s most expensive and incredible four-wheeled machines.
As a side article to their interview, L’Officiel scoured the artist’s Instagram feed for examples from his car collection. Among them was a Bugatti Chiron he bought himself for his 28th birthday for $3 million.
Think of a supercar maker and Scott probably owns one, be it
Bentley
, Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Rolls-Royce. One vehicle featured heavily on his feed is his milk-chocolate brown Mercedes Maybach G650, valued at about $1.4 million.

Travis Scott’s collection compared to the cars of other rappers

The price tags of Travis Scott’s cars would baffle most drivers, but in the world of hip hop, he doesn’t even come close to the top of the car collecting game.
Jay-Z, the richest hip-hop artist in the world, owns one of the most impressive groups of cars in the genre. One car alone, a Maybach Exelero once owned by fellow rapper and car collector Birdman, is worth $8 million.
Million-dollar supercars are probably the most popular segment in rap, but a few popular artists prefer
classic cars
. Snoop Dogg, for example, has a taste for luxury “boats” made by the big three American automakers in the ‘60s and ‘70s.
But the biggest collection in music might belong to Rick Ross, who told
Today
in September that he owns over 100 cars. Ironically, the 45-year-old admitted in the interview that until recently he didn’t have a driver’s license.

Car insurance for car collections

Traditional
car insurance
for supercars like Travis Scott’s Mercedes Maybach is obviously expensive. But many people who own cars like this use collector car insurance, which works a little differently than your average policy.
Companies like
Hagerty
, Grundy, and American Collectors offer coverage for these types of vehicles by agreeing with the owner on a set value for the car in question.
This means that any claim the company pays out would include restorations and modifications made to the car—something traditional insurers don’t normally do.
