For many people, owning a Porsche is a dream that may never come true unless they buy one used. Between the expensive parts and high cost of

, it may not be worth the prestige of owning one. Buying a classic Porsche like the 1979 Porsche 928 may be even harder, especially if it's in good condition. Owning the 928 from Risky Business is definitely beyond the price range for most people, but someone will be able to own it soon.
If you're not familiar with Risky Business, it stars a young Cruise who decides to take his dad's Porsche 928 for a joy ride. As the movie name implies, things don't go exactly well for Cruise's character, although the audience has a blast watching his various adventures.

reports that three Porsche 928s were used in the film, and only one will be put up for auction. The good news is that it's not the 928 that sunk to the bottom of Lake Michigan. This particular Porsche later appeared in a documentary by filmmaker Lewis Johnsen. He made it a point to set out and discover what happened to this specific Porsche 928, and sought it out.
Bid on the Porsche this September

The Porsche has been contained in a climate-controlled environment that has preserved that gorgeous interior and cork on cork leather seats. The gold paint still looks impeccable, and the engine and other parts are still in working condition.
There's no reserve, which means that there's no undisclosed minimum sale price set by the seller. This might add a touch of drama to the auction, but that remains to be seen.
What do the Porsche’s specs look like?
This rear-wheel drive beauty is powered by a 4.5-liter V-8 engine, which produces 219 hp. While that may not seem like much, given that the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat can produce up to 801 hp, the Charger doesn't quite have the class of the 1979 928.
It's a five-speed manual that is reportedly the car that Cruise learned to drive a stick shift in. This 928 can go from 0-60 mph in 6.8 seconds, and has a top speed of 143 mph. Of course, whoever buys it probably isn't going to be driving it often, so that may not matter.
It's very obvious that it's been well-loved wherever it's been housed for the past few years, and will undoubtedly find a new loving home this September.
