The 2021 Infiniti Q50: Very affordable luxury sedans
While it's true that the 2022 Infiniti Q50 is due for a price increase, the 2021 model is available for a very affordable rate of $37,625. For this price, you get a very comfortable ride.
Unfortunately, some quirks may not justify this price. For example, the standard 300 hp twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 isn't the most powerful of engines, especially not for a luxury vehicle. You can always upgrade to the 400-hp V-6, but this comes with a price increase.
Adding to the list of the Q50's woes is an infotainment system that isn't exactly user-friendly. Despite these shortcomings, the 2021 Infiniti Q50 is a great-looking affordable luxury sedan that can hold its own with more expensive cars.
The Genesis G70 is competing on another level
Genesis is one of the newer brands to hit the luxury market, and it's part of Hyundai Motor Group. The G70 is the affordable option for the BMW 3-Series, and there are a lot of reasons buyers are considering the newcomer over the well-established BMW.
The starting price of $37,025 is one major reason to at least give it a test drive. The other is the fact that there's a 10-year 100,000-mile powertrain warranty that is too much to pass up on for those who don't like getting hit with expensive repairs unexpectedly.
Other factors that make the G70 so amazing include a 252-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine, an optional 365-hp twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V-6, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the option to go with a six-speed manual. It may not be a BMW, but given the price, comfort, and specs, does it matter?
Is the 2021 Acura ILX a competitor for affordable luxury sedans?
The 2021 Acura ILX is the most affordable luxury sedan on this list. Even though the last update was in 2019, the exterior and interior have a modern look that helps it compete with more expensive vehicles. Top model Acuras are usually extremely affordable used luxury cars.
The main issue for the ILX is the fact that the specs aren't all that great. The 2.4-liter inline-four engine that generates 201 hp is not the most energetic in the luxury department. To add to the list of things that are less than stellar, the tech inside like the infotainment system is a little behind the curve.
Even so, some people don't mind having an engine that isn't the most powerful on the block and has little use for the infotainment system. Whether or not you fit into this category, the starting price of $27,125 makes it very easy to forgive these few minor shortcomings enough to give the 2021 Acura ILX a chance.
