background
The Bugatti EB112 is a rare super-sedan that first made its debut in 1993 at the Geneva Motor Show. The unusual
luxury car
concept was met with mixed reviews.
Italian entrepreneur Romano Artioli saw the EB112 as a way to revitalize
Bugatti's image
. The unconventional details and design of the car certainly made it stand out. Unfortunately, the company went bankrupt in 1995 and it seems that only three EB112s were ever built. And now one of them is for sale.
The Bugatti EB112 is a grand, retro-inspired luxury car.

Why the Bugatti EB112 is different from the rest

The EB112's grand, four-door stature was designed to make an impression. The retro-inspired, super-saloon fastback features an aluminum body along with Bugatti's signature horseshoe grille.
Hypebeast
notes that Artioli took his design cues from past Bugatti car models that were successful, including the EB110.
Luxury car enthusiasts
might be reminded of the Bugatti Royale, a large luxury car built from 1927 to 1933 and still coveted by collectors. The interior of the EB112 offers the same feeling of space and grandeur.
Autoblog
refers to it as a modern-day Royale for its obvious similarities.
But what really makes the Bugatti EB112 stand out from the rest is its rarity. Only one was actually built by Bugatti. Two more were completed by the Monaco Racing Team after being sold to businessman Gildo Pallanca Pastor. It is one of the latter that is for sale.

Does this luxury car meet performance expectations?

Bugatti is known for its two-door hypercars, so the EB112's four-door presentation is already a step beyond expectations. But drivers won't be disappointed with the car's performance either. It offers more than adequate power for a car of its weight and stature.
The naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12 is able to crank out 460 horsepower with its five-speed manual transmission. The EB112 is still arguably one of Bugatti's finest pieces of engineering.
The concept car has a top speed of 186 mph. Bugatti claims that the EB112 can attain a 0-62 mph time of 4.3 seconds, which is amazing considering its large frame. Artioli hoped to create a
limousine-type vehicle
but ended up with so much more.

One of the ultra-rare Bugatti EB112 sedans is now for sale

Schaltkulisse, a German classic car dealer, is welcoming queries about the Bugatti EB112 it has listed for sale. The asking price has not been made public. It is sure to reflect the rarity and
multi-layered history of this classic car
, so it likely won't come cheap. For some collectors, it still might be well worth the price.
According to Schaltkulisse, the Bugatti EB112 has been registered in Geneva, Switzerland, since 2003. The odometer shows the mileage at approximately 2,500 miles or 3,900 kilometers. The EB112 only had one previous owner and is still in good running condition. It boasts a front-mid-mounted 6.0-liter V12.
The Bugatti EB112 would have been one of the first luxury sports sedans on the road had it progressed beyond its prototype phase. Now one lucky (and moneyed) classic car collector has the opportunity to call one of these three beautiful cars their own.
