510,000 Ram pickups have been recalled. This includes 2012-2021 Ram 3500 heavy-duty pickups, and Chassis Cab 4500 and 5500 trucks. The owner’s manual had incorrect lug-nut torque instructions, as reported by

. The majority of pickups under recall were sold in America. Owners that followed their manuals may have over-torqued their lug nuts. This could "compromise studs and lead to wheel separation," according to a press release from Stellantis. That means the wheels could come off as you’re driving on the road.
How do you know if you need to replace your Ram pickup?
There have been no reported injuries related to the problem, but it’s dangerous to risk having your wheels come off on a highway. If you haven't had to remove your wheels or replace them, you don’t have to worry about the recall. Your lug nuts were torqued properly during assembly, but make sure to get an updated manual from your dealership.
If you have had repairs or service for your wheels, they might still be fine, but Ram is recalling them for inspection. If the wheel studs need replacement, they will be taken care of at no charge.
