The storyline from the first movie of the series, The Fast and the Furious, shows O'Connor building up the Supra from a wreck. Toward the end of the film, he races Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, who crashes his Charger during the race. O'Connor hands him the keys to the Supra, as he owed Toretto a "10-second" car, according to

.The Supra, which was auctioned by Barrett-Jackson, has a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission. The car was also used in the second film, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and modified for Michael Ealy’s character Slap Jack. It was later restored to its configuration from the first film.
History of the Toyota Supra
The first Toyota Supra, known as the Celica Supra, was introduced in 1979, according to

. The Celica part of its brand was dropped for the third generation in 1986. The fourth generation of the Supra released in 1993 came with new features including the twin-turbocharged 2JZ engine. Although the Supra had been pulled from the North American market in 1998, The Fast and The Furious made this model famous.
The fifth-generation Toyota Supra returned to the American market in 2019. The 2021 Toyota GR Supra starts at $43,090. It’s equipped with a four-cylinder engine, and a six-cylinder upgrade is available for roughly $8,000 more.
