What is there to know about the Hollywood Car Museum?
Car museums are pretty common in the U.S. 47 of the 50 states have at least one. California has 10 of them. But within that group is a growing subcategory: car museums displaying the vehicles of Hollywood’s movies and movie stars.
In 2014, renowned
car collector
Michael Dezer partnered with Hot Rod City in Las Vegas to move his Hollywood Collection from the Miami Auto Museum to Sin City. The collection includes more than 100 famous vehicles from film and television.Recently the museum also acquired the car collection of Las Vegas icon Liberace. The singer regularly brought his Rolls Royces and other cars on stage with them. The exhibit includes the cars, some of his stage costumes, and one of his bedazzled pianos.
Highlights from the Hollywood Car Museum
The words “car museum” are enough to pique the interest of most car enthusiasts, but this Las Vegas car museum isn’t for gearheads alone. The vehicles on display can fascinate young and old, thanks to their appearances in popular movies and TV shows.

show from the ‘60s and another from Tim Burton’s ‘92 film Batman Returns. James Bond fans also won’t be disappointed. The collection includes a motorcycle from the ‘65 film Thunderball, a hovercraft from Die Another Day, and one of the six Lotus Esprit submarine cars used in The Spy Who Loved Me (not the one owned by Elon Musk).
Other exhibit items are a Delorean from Back to the Future, Herbie from the original Herbie the Love Bug, and TV stars like the “General Lee''

Though many car museums and collections include vehicles owned by celebrities or used in movies and television, Hollywood Car Museum in Las Vegas is one of only four specifically focused on the subgenre of collector cars.
Two of them are in Tennessee. Among the extensive exhibits at the Hollywood Star Cars Museum in Gatlinburg are 11 cars from the
Fast & Furious
franchise. Rusty’s TV & Movie Car Museum in Jacksonville features replicas next to genuine movie cars.The only other car museum zeroed in on the rich and famous is the Celebrity Car Museum in Branson, Missouri.
The museum displays 100 cars at a time, including the Chevy Blazer from Stranger Things, two Ford Explorers from
Jurassic Park
, and Harry’s “Mutts Cutts” van from Dumb and Dumber.
