—an optional, massive 15.5-inch touchscreen display. While this new feature certainly adds appeal to Ford’s biggest SUV, there are plenty of other reasons to take a second glance at the 2022 Expedition. One of the main benefits that
can now offer, according to Consumer Reports, are over-the-air-updates to the 2022 Expedition’s Infotainment system.
For drivers, this means getting tweaks and improvements automatically over the lifespan of owning their 2022 Expedition; but Ford has packed more added benefits into their flagship SUV, one of the few of its size that’s recommended by
The 15.5-inch touch display coming to the 2022 Ford Expedition
Borrowed from the Mustang Mach-E, the simply massive 15.5-inch display is optional in the 2022 Expedition but certainly adds a “wow” factor to one of the few full-sized SUVs that passed Consumer Reports’ road test.
Compared with the standard 12-inch screen, the larger unit is reported to be intuitive to use, but with new features, including customized driver settings that could take some time for new owners to figure out.
With its larger size, the 15.5-inch display also forces the climate control settings down low on the center console arrangement, which might be an uncomfortable position for taller drivers.

Standard pedestrian warning system
More comfortable front row seating
A new Timberline off-road package with a powerful turbocharged V-6, cranking out 440 hp
A heavy-duty tow package that increases standard pulling power from 6,000 lbs to 9,300 lbs
Another highlight? The 2022 Expedition also received a 5-star side-crash rating from the NHTSA. Along with its standard detection system, this SUV certainly doesn’t skimp on safety.
Does the 2022 Expedition have weak points?
A few. While it’s one of the few full-sized SUVs that are recommended by Consumer Reports, the 2022 Ford Expedition does suffer somewhat in terms of size and fuel economy.
On the road, the 2022 Expedition struggles to remain fuel-efficient, averaging 11 mpg in town, and a moderate 23 mpg on the highway. This massive SUV doesn’t handle well in emergency steering situations, and has a notoriously stiff suspension, due to its size.
But thanks to a stellar crash test rating, it’s possible that drivers may overlook these derogatory marks. And with
No matter how safe your vehicle is to drive, it’s still important to make sure you have insurance that can cover the what-ifs that might arise. That’s where
