2021 BMW M5 Competition

The automaker made a few changes to its engine and transmission to provide greater raw power. For example, you can turn off the ESP setting on the M8 Competition to move all the power to its rear wheels.
Adding an M8 Driver's package increases the vehicle's speed limiter to 189 mph. Without that package, you can still take the vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds. The engine boasts 617 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque.
2022 BMW M5 CS
In 2022, BMW releases its fastest street-legal car, the BMW M5 CS. It zips from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, and you can drive it up to 189 mph.
It could top that speed without the limiter, but the speed limiter is required to make the vehicle street-legal in certain countries. According to Sports Car Digest, it achieved a lap time of 7:29.57 when tested at the Nürburgring by Sports Auto.
